Science& Spirituality of the Word 'OM' & Hindu Mantras

Read to the end without being influenced by the first two paragraphs to fully understand the underlying science behind this blog.

For generations especially many Hindus of India have been conditioned by colonial rulers & foreign barbaric invaders who struggled to comprehend how ancient traditions achieved profound mental peace through the worship of nature, rivers, & idols, alongside the use of rituals & mantras.

Sadly, they were blinded by cultural bias & historical fanaticism such as the historical persecution by burning women alive calling those witches as they believed in nature & the barbaric invaders who only knew beheadings & burning of infidels.

Sadly, these external forces failed to recognize the sophisticated Acoustic & Physiological Science embedded in these traditions & that was they undoing. As you can see across different societies most of the societies have lost culture & peace of mind.

Tragically, subsequent generations of post-colonial leadership in India most often remained, Yes Psychologically Colonized, equating European attire & superficial customs with genuine science & civilization.

Let us look into real science now - Science of Sound & Cymatics

The word Cymatics is referred to the scientific study of visible sound & vibrations & it has scientifically revealed a principle in nature which is common & that vibration gives rise to form.

How Geometric Organize Matter into shapes:

When acoustic waves pass through a medium like water, sand or liquid they organize those matters into precise & symmetrical geometric patterns.

How Frequency Modulation Organize Matter into Shapes:

It has been studied that as sound frequencies shift, resulting geometry evolves & transforming simple vibrations into circles, polygons, stars & increasingly intricate structures.

It proves Resonance in Physics can have affects:

The above two demonstrates that physical form can emerge directly from resonance & which occurs when an external wave matches an object’s natural frequency thereby causing a dramatic increase in vibrational amplitude. This is seen universally across physics, music & even chemistry!

This is what governs the natural world.

Spirals, hexagons, branching networks, crystal lattices & countless biological structures arise from this physical laws affected by energy motion & geometry.

From molecules to galaxies it spans every scale of existence.

Every orbit, crystal & living organism has shown that is shares a mathematical order.

How Ancient Hindus used Acoustic Neurochemistry & Human Physiology:

As proven by modern biophysics, sound vibrations directly impact all living & non-living matter.

Earlier Ancient Hindu music & Vedic Chants & Mantras were not loud & chaotic modern noise.

They were purposefully created around soft, intentional acoustic vibrations. The frequencies were designed to stimulate neural pathways, induce deep relaxation, regulate sleep cycles & restore homeostasis (is a self-regulating process by which a living organism maintains a stable internal environment while adjusting to external changing conditions. They are tuning of our body to help maintain vitals such as body temperature, body sugar & fluid balance).

Scientific design of Mantras based for Neurochemical Release:

When sacred word "OM" is repeatedly uttered or by chanting the Gayatri Mantra it creates mechanical sound waves that travel through the vagus nerve & skull bones.

This acoustic stimulation affects brainwave activity & shifts the brain wave states toward Alpha & Theta Waves & Triggers releasing of vital Neuro chemicals & Enzymes.

Scientific design of Mantras for Psychophysiological Balance:

The above discussed results in biochemical shifts bring the central nervous system down from an excited or stressed state into a state of physiological equilibrium.

This is the real science why ancient Hindus had provided superior emotional resilience & physical vitality & there by fostering a harmonious relationship with their surrounding ecosystem.

It also allowed them to cultivate a deeply compassionate & humanistic lifestyle which was well grounded in ecological balance & inner peace.

How this Science Came into Hindu Mantras:

Ancient Hindus Sages & Intellectuals had arrived at acoustic sciences not through modern laboratory instruments but through deep observation, meditation & rigorous cognitive analysis.

This knowledge was passed down from generation to generation & being fined tuned on the way for over 7 millennia.

So, next time you hear traditional Hindu mantras, kindly do not take my words as proof. But, just sit quietly for few moments, close your eyes & listen.
