The Unbounded Emotional Journey of Human Being From Cradle to Senior/Twilight

This topic of mine is unique & boundless, but I shall do my best to explain & write.

Infancy – The Blissful Unawareness:

A time to remember our unconscious existence.

There’s absolutely no recollection of what were our thoughts or emotions when we are babies. Nobody remembers such early memories as it is scientifically & physically impossible & it is called as infantile amnesia. But this is the reality.

We were weeping loudly driven by thirst, hunger or any kind of physical agony

We were sucking our mother’s milk, biologically driven by basic survival instincts

We were having a blissful, blissful, very comfortable & secured sleep in our father’s strong arms, sleeping like babies & which we were.

Toddlerhood - Innocence, “Toddler language,” & Tantrums.

Exploration of life with zero fear or worry.

In this stage we all try to emulate everything said by parents, brothers, sisters & all our loving relations in our own “Toddler language” that only our loving parents understand, because of love & a deeper genetic bond between parents & child.

We throw tantrums & cry hard for toys, candy, ice cream, etc. Manipulating people (not knowing we are manipulating) & situations through tears, with this fun & joyous stage of life with absolutely zero worries & not much understanding about gender differences. Everybody is just friends to kiss or kick when you are angry.

Pre-School.

The Trauma of Separation

Then parents would put the most beautiful clothing on us & tell us there are friends, toys & playground to lure us to attend pre-school. But their hearts bleed inside, though they could not help but part from us, trying their best to prepare us for life.

This unspoken anguish they show through their expressions & through tearful eyes that we as children could not understand. But our loud crying (screaming at the top of our voices) did give us a psychological lesson about separation, but gradually, this painful ritual taught us about how separation is also inevitable & eventually we begin enjoying ourselves, crying, singing & laughing with our kindergarten friends & that’s when time starts to fly.

Primary School & Heavier Backpacks, Lighter Hearts:

Pure innocence, sports & friends.

Schoolbags & books get heavier gradually, but we enjoy this period to the fullest, school is a joyous occasion & so is meeting & playing with our friends. The pure innocence remains intact & life carries no major anxiety about future outcomes.

Secondary School:

Coming of Age & the Distance between Genders

Here we are a bit more aware of our environment & our surroundings. Envy or a touch of selfishness starts to creep in some of us, while others manage to retain their core goodness. Crucially, we start noticing that we develop social distance & certain decorum in language when we talk to persons of opposite sex.

Crushes start developing.

(The above stage applies to our earlier era of 45-50 decades before smart phones & social media took over youth).

College:

Attractions & the Prelude to Real World

College is the last preparation stage before we step into the real world. This phase is about making ourselves presentable through good dressing, attractiveness & cultivating social circles.

Some concentrate fully on studies while others may spend a lot of time bunking classes to go to movies or have fun with their girl/boyfriends.

Sexual attractions & neurochemical drive becomes very strong during this period and a large chunk of young population is seen indulging in day-dreaming of choosing life-partners while many end up marrying their sweethearts, some of them with remorse later.

But throughout this academic phase, games, sports, friends are the highlights & for some even having few pegs of alcohol in college parties are the best thrills.

However for those belonging to middle/working class background with no inherited wealth, the last year of college is heavy with a foreboding – THE FUTURE!

We all carry this illusion of conquering the world, given our age & youth that we will succeed beyond measure.

The Real World:

A Bursting Soap Bubble

College is over & we step out of the soap-bubble we lived in created by our parents, friends, us, a world in which we assumed that we are ‘KING’ of the universe & know it all.

Even at this stage most people’s minds are frozen back about 20-25 years to that stage of college. We walk out & believe, we know everything, we are at par with our colleagues 20-30 years older to us, with decades of experience & we expect them to respect our knowledge, appreciate our talents, treat us fairly, address us with respect & with equal regard.

Those from families with business backgrounds or those who worked in some capacity during their youth could foresee it a little early.

But the majority of us enter the “real world” to see our “soap bubble world” bursting around us.

Those who adapt fast, understand the corporate world, adjust their psyche thrive. Those who fail to come to terms with reality eventually succumb in their careers, their lives, their futures.

Adulthood & Marriage

“Trisanku Swarga”

Eventually comes the next stage in the journey of the human being, Marriage. Some run away together. Some go for arranged marriage.

Some relationships are broken completely.

Some remain together because of social responsibility, children & pragmatism  living in modern day “Trisanku Swarga.”

Some break free for a partial fracture & some couples find happiness.

The Last Stage:

Reflection, Gratitude & the Soul.

And so, finally, the journey ends. Some end their life taking the final breath in the comforting tears of their family members.

Others, may, unfortunately see hatred & betrayal in the eyes of their loved ones.

And some take their last breath all alone in old age homes, street corners or behind the silent walls.

Life, after all, is a game, which some play very well & some do not! This is also much like a card game where lot depends on “luck,” but some always know the “tricks” to cheat & win.

The Philosophical Reality:

However, If there exists a Soul as I have explained with logic & scientific perspective in my earlier blogs on Soul & Karma then all our past, present & future lives are bound to a cosmic principle & responsibility.

When we look back, have we ever truly experienced anything as bad that was “unbearable?”

Can any of us undo being a baby, toddler, student, college student? Can we disregard all the positive experiences?

He tended to avoid women.  He considered that to live a peaceful life, women are to be kept away from his life as they represented trouble and temptations.
